I have checked the cooling fan and it is working, but not coming on when the engine starts to overheat. There is some sort of switch inside a bolt on the radiator, the live feed for the fan goes into it and a switch feed comes out to the fan (if that makes sense). The live feed is good, but the switch feed does not come on. What is this 'bolt'? Is it a radiator thermostat, I thought the thermostat was in the engine block?
Also, the temperature indicator goes up to about a quarter, but never into the red, so not sure if the thermostat is knackered?|||First of all son.......IT'S A DAEWOO...having said that, Did you check the fluid level...Does it have an overflow container in the fender? is it full? Check your switch..is it OK? But most of all when it comes to YOUR car, get and keep informed....Don't THINK.... KNOW...There is nothing more dangerous than a loose nut behind the wheel...Now I don't Pretend to know everything..If I told you that I'd be lying. In a case like yours I would start with the most inexpensive thing and start replacing whatever it took to get it fixed,,,That way you learn from trial and error what is wrong with your car. You have my sympathies.

The cost depends on how much damage was done to the valves.. $1000-$2500 or so. Sorry someone did not tell you before. A timing belt change before it breaks is like $150-$250.
Where is the horn located on a 1997 Daewoo Nexia?

My Daewoo Freeview PVR freezes and says 'Please wait while the hard disk is initialised'?
My Daewoo PVR is frequently freezing and displaying, 'Please wait while the hard disk is initialized'. This is extremely annoying as it stops recording anything and starts up again. What do I need to do?|||Read in the manual about 'format hdd'' as most new pvrs should have this done, it will increase Reliability and Performance and is probably all yours needs|||Problems like this can be notoriously difficult to pin down and fix, but here's a few suggestions that might help:
Try turning the PVR off (turn it off at the mains) and leave it off for 24 hours.
Check that there is nothing metal/magnetic next to the unit - I once came across a case of where the clients 3 year old son 'discovered' that his magnetic toys would stick to the bottom of the PVR making an interesting (to him anyway!) clunking noise. Unfortunately, it stopped the disc rotating properly, causing the problem. Removed the toy, easy fix, happy Mum (but less happy 3 yr old!)
Check to see if there are any software updates you can install - all though if the hard disk is not firing up, you may not be able to install them.
It may just be that the problem is terminal - repair bills could quickly exceed the cost of a new machine.
If you're looking for a replacement - and just want to watch and record digital TV - then you can't go too far wrong with a Humax PVR9150. Should cost a shade under 拢130.
Would love to find out if you fix the problem - so I can use it to help others in the future.
