Can anyone think of a reason that my Daewoo 27" TV recently started emitting a high-pitched electronic squeal?

I've tried changing the outlet that it is plugged into and adjusting the coaxial cable input and RCA leads coming from the DVD player. Neither helped. The noise is coming from the speakers that are built into the TV.

Any advice?|||If you are sure that it is from the speakers itself; sometimes the electromagnetic fields in the back of the TV may produce a very high pitched voice; like a dog whistle:- if that is the case try turning it to another higher channel then to a very lower channel put it on standby , when it comes back there is a chance that it will turn out OK; it is usually caused by the malfunction of certain capacitors on the mother board.

But if it is from the speakers, you can take it to a repair shop and they will install some special capacitor filters which can reduce the noise in the system.

Hope this helps.

QNS :- daneengineer@yahoo.com|||this happened to my tv too and the reason is that something else is interfering with the frequency or you are uing too much electricity.also try to change audio/volume controlls

good luck|||I would suggest to use a VCR for your Cable and output the RCA wires to a stereo receiver. As to the noise, I'm not too sure. Sorry!

I had a Daewoo TV once, and man....I hated that thing. It used to always turn off every 20-30 minutes. Especially sucked when I was playing video games. hahaha. Got rid of years ago. I'm so happy now.|||Don't buy those brands any more, my cousin had a daewoo car and the transmission went out, after a year!|||it is squealing to be turned off, unplugged, have its innards removed, and turned into a frame for a painting, a flower box, or perhaps made into a shelving unit that can support a more complacent television.

by the way, wrathpup:

have you ever done anything at all?

there is your genetic proof that "god" exists. (no really!)|||Daewoo is a noname. Piece of crap (the TV).
